Sunice Gets Technical About Their Gear

The Ultimate V2 Jacket
A hurricane watch has been issued for all golf courses around the world.

Sunice has reinvented themselves with an innovative new line of golf outerwear from their Hurricane Collection.  Highlighting this new line, the Ultimate V2 Jacket  catches the eye of even the most discriminating golfer. Backed by an astonishing Lifetime Guarantee, Sunice continues to stand by their garments with a confidence found nowhere else in the industry.

The Ultimate V2 Jacket expects the worst of Mother Nature and delivers refuge to all who wear it.  Now into the next generation (V2 is version 2), advances in technology have allowed the engineers at Sunice to lightened and increase the flexibility of the Gore-Tex® 2-layer Performance Shell. Add to that the X-Static stretch lining, Pro-Trim waist cinching system, wrist rain channel, and a very cool in-pocket ball cleaner, and the jacket choice for golfers really is no choice at all. I venture to guess that the R&D department at Sunice host legions of weekend warriors in their ranks.

Too often golf garments are fashionably alluring but lack in performance. The Ultimate V2 Jacket sets out to change that perception. Listen carefully as you take your first swing wearing the Ultimate V2 Jacket. The sound of silence is almost deafening. Traditional jackets marketed to golfers tend to feature materials that generate a lot of noise during a golf swing, the ultimate in distractions for a focussed mind.

Additionally, Sunice has taken the dynamics of the golf swing into consideration in constructing the Ultimate V2 Jacket. Equipped with a full top back stretch panel (you’ll have to feel it to appreciate it), the jacket allows for the full range of motion required to execute the golf swing effectively. No longer will golfers need to adjust their swing to fit their garment, freeing them up to swing away.

aboutGolf Cuts Edge Again

Cutting edge shafts by H-G
Already the industry leader in golf simulator technology, aboutGolf is at it again. Henry-Griffits, a custom-clubfitting company owned by aboutGolf, unveiled its new Stripe-It shaft, a filament-wound graphite shaft with the benefits of maximum performance. The result is a cutting edge shaft with a bending stiffness that rivals the traditional tape-rolled shafts.

Henry-Griffits, with the help of corporate partner Neo-Fiber, spent the past 25 years perfecting their new pride and joy. Overcoming the previous disadvantage of being very difficult and expensive to produce, H-G’s new shafts promote efficient transfer of power, more consistency in the flex, and uniform performance. In layman’s terms, this shaft will help you generate more power while maintaining the club’s stability. In theory, you’ll be longer and straighter. Happy scoring.

Performance and Affordability? Definitely.

The new Gamer V2 delivers performance and affordability.
Trying to cut through the marketing bull that surrounds golf ball performance is sketchy at best. Some claim ‘Superior Distance and Control’ while the other states ‘More Spin and Feel’. Let’s get to the facts.

Pack It Right

Storing your clubs properly is important for performance and closure.
For so many of us, the end of the golf season ritually occurs on that last day when we drag the clubs out of the trunk and find a corner in the garage or basement to lean them up against. With the cost of equipment nowadays, not to mention the technology involved, its good practice to ‘winterize’ the sticks to preserve look and performance.

Phresh For 2010

Toronto-based Phresh Wear has its sights set on 2010.
Toronto-based golf apparel manufacturer, Phresh Wear, is taking 2010 as an opportunity to get back to basics and to marry that attitude with their garments. With a unique vision about what golf apparel should be, Phresh Wear raises the bar with their new line, maintaining the same standards and attention to detail for their female clientele, and asking the question, ‘Shouldn’t golf wear be for more than jus the course?’

Known as a performance apparel company, with leading edge and phresh new looks, Tim Tocher is armed and ready to attack this upcoming year. First on his list is pricing. The ability to walk into a golf apparel store and walk out with a quality shirt for under $150 is dwindling. Tocher has made a commitment to his clientele that at Phresh Wear, procuring a quality garment shouldn’t break the bank. In fact, Tocher is ensuring that anyone who visits Phresh Wear will be able to walk away with quality shirts for around $70. Combine that with their innovative idea of garment matching (Phresh Wear designs and produces their pants to specifically go with their shirts) and you have the epitome in one-stop shopping and client services all wrapped up together.

The signature trademark at Phresh Wear  is use of colour. No other garment company in the world manages to convey emotion and attitude as well as Phresh Wear. In a nutshell, Phresh Wear exudes a relaxing calmness, while providing style and comfort to both golfers and civilians alike.

With respect to the line itself, Phresh Wear sacrifices nothing. In an industry where customers demand quality and performance, Phresh Wear delivers. With a classic European look and feel, golfer’s can incorporate personal style and expression without worrying about the athletic performance of their apparel.

The Miura Edge
by Jason Ferris

Father's Day in the Ferris household has taken on new meaning in the past few years. Being new to the game myself (a three and one year old) I'm beginning to appreciate the unheralded importance of the day. And now that my own dad has retired and taken up golf, it's one of the first dates on the calendar that I circle every year.

Father's Days past usually involved libations by noon, some lame attempt at barbecuing by my brother and myself, and the trifecta of Advil, a bottle of water, and a cab. But my dad's retirement and foray into the sport his sons love has forever changed that special Sunday in June. The days of lugging over a case of beer and half a cow to the old man’s house are gone. In its place are a dozen golf balls, the cleaning of clubs, and a trip out to the links for a day of hacks and whacks (beer still included).
