Performance and Affordability? Definitely.

The new Gamer V2 delivers performance and affordability.
Trying to cut through the marketing bull that surrounds golf ball performance is sketchy at best. Some claim ‘Superior Distance and Control’ while the other states ‘More Spin and Feel’. Let’s get to the facts.

There really are four types of golf balls.

Two-Piece Distance

Pros:  Less spin means cutting down on your hook and slice. Firm polymer cover may promote higher launch angle. Cheap.

Cons:  Spinning less around the greens makes it harder to check. Being a hard ball, feel is nonexistent.

Two-Piece Low Compression

Pros:  Easy to compress so can increase your distance even with slower swing speeds. Softer cover improves feel. Cheap.

Cons:   Softer feel doesn’t help around the greens as spin is lacking.

Two-Piece Performance

Pros:  Claim of springy cores to increase distance and promote softer feel. Thin cover leads to more distance.

Cons:  No spin advantage around the greens. More expensive than the other two-piece balls.

Multilayer Construction (3-piece)

Pros:  Soft cover for feel. Energy transfer core to promote distance. Spin more on chip shots. Durable and consistent.

Cons:  Some of these balls are designed with the Tour Pro`s swing speed in mind (100mph+). Actually decreases distance for slow swingers. Pricey.

Now for those in the market for the high performance ball, but lacking the budget, Top Flite`s new Gamer V2 is the new ball for you.  With all of the traditional construction of a 3-piece ball, the new Gamer also comes designed with its Dimple in Dimple Aerodynamics, the unique surface feature that allows your golf ball to maintain spin longer, delivering maximum distance. Top Flite also guarantees more spin and control around the greens for about for $20.00 (USD) a dozen, a far cry from the $45.00+ you will end up paying for Titleist Pro V. If you are interested in this ball, visit your local Pro Shop or go online and grab them up here.
